Once upon a time I've seen my friends
down the road

They were looking for a train that could bring them home

I said nooooooooo it's time for the road
They said goooooooooo, if you want new songs

One thing I remember was that I could do it alone
The blues will guide me through this land
where I'm gonna be someone

They said

Rollllll, you've gotta feel the song
Rollllll, you've gotta do it in the road

To get me through this vast land I thought to buy me an old car
but my money was so short i'd rather spend it in bars

The fisrt one I've got in there was a man playing guitar
We had some beers and then he said that he needed to
cross the bounds

I said

Rollllll, you've gotta feel the song
Rollllll, you've gotta do it in the road

As I was getting through the door he asked me to drive a car
I've told him I aint got none but he pointed outside the bar

he told me he just wanted to play some blues down in New Orleans
if I was a blues singer we could give them some thrill

I said

Rollllll, we gotta reach the road
Rollllll, they gonna feel our songs

We've got his car and then we drove heading New Orleans
stopping every joint we played and made all the best chicks

Every bar we played the blues we made some money as well
but we've spent every dime with booze, chicks and hell

Rollllll, this only happens on the road
Rollllll, that why I called it my home
